Naturopathic Doctor (ND) – Holistic Practitioner for Women’s Health and Wellness Practice Troy, MI 

Our client is expanding its healthcare team and seeking a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) to join their Women’s Health and Wellness practice. This addition aims to increase practitioner availability and integrate holistic treatment plans for their patients.

The perfect candidate will focus on providing integrative and holistic care, supporting patients through the surgical and post-mastectomy phases. Has the ability to contribute to a well-informed and empowered patient community and ensures that the practice team is aligned with the principles of naturopathic medicine in the context of breast surgery, post-mastectomy care, promoting preventative care in women’s health and wellness.

  • Full-time position – Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am – 3 pm
  • Occasional 2 hour evening seminars

  • Patient Consultations:
    • Conduct comprehensive consultations with breast surgery patients, focusing on their overall health and well-being.
    • Assess patients’ nutritional status, lifestyle, and stressors.
    • Discuss complementary and alternative therapies to support conventional treatments to educate and empower patients on breast health, self-care and overall wellness.
  • Toxicity Management:
    • Collaborate with surgeons and medical oncologists to develop strategies for managing the toxicities of conventional treatments.
    • Provide guidance on nutrition and lifestyle modifications to enhance healing.
  • Holistic Care:
    • Develop personalized treatment plans using holistic medicine.
    • Offer holistic approaches to support patients during the post-mastectomy recovery process.
    • Address emotional and psychological aspects of breast cancer survivorship.
    • In coordination with the Patient Care Coordinator maintain a system for following-up with patients who have completed cancer treatments, two years after their last treatment.
  • Education and Outreach:
    • Collaborate with the management, team members, health coaches and other clinicians to contribute to the continual improvement and growth strategy of the practice.
    • Conduct one-on-one educational sessions with patients to explain the principles of naturopathic medicine, addressing their specific health concerns and goals.
    • Clearly communicate the integrative treatment plans, including the role of naturopathic therapies, supplements, and lifestyle modifications, in a language accessible to patients.
    • Empower patients with knowledge about their health conditions, emphasizing the importance of active participation in their care and decision-making.
    • Organize and lead educational workshops or seminars for patients and their families, covering topics such as nutrition, stress management, and complementary therapies.
    • In coordination with clinical and non-clinical team members develop and distribute informational materials, brochures, or handouts that explain naturopathic principles and the specific services offered within the clinic.
    • Collaborate with the patient care coordinator to organize community outreach programs to educate the benefits of naturopathic medicine and integrative oncology.
    • Address patient questions and concerns regarding naturopathic treatments, supplements, and lifestyle recommendations with clarity and patience.
    • Emphasize the collaborative nature of integrative care and the importance of communication between the naturopath and other healthcare providers within the practice.
    • Offer educational sessions on the benefits and appropriate use of supplements for breast surgery patients.
    • Collaborate with the patient care coordinator to develop informational materials on recommended supplements.
    • Work closely with surgeons and medical oncologists to ensure seamless integration of complementary therapies and supplements into the treatment plan.
    • Communicate with patients about the potential benefits and limitations of therapy and supplement offerings.
    • Conduct educational sessions for patients and caregivers on integrative oncology and holistic health practices.
  • Documentation/Communication:
    • Maintain detailed records of patient consultations, recommendations, and outcomes in Doctor Chrono EMR system.
    • Work closely with the healthcare team to integrate holistic care plans into overall treatment strategies.
  • Therapy Offerings:
    • Conduct individualized assessments of patients to determine specific needs for complementary therapies.
    • Recommend and administer therapies such as acupuncture, massage, or integrative oncology therapies to address physical and emotional aspects of recovery.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to integrate supportive therapies into the overall treatment plan.
  • Supplement Recommendations:
    • Evaluate patients’ nutritional status and recommend personalized supplement regimens to support recovery and overall health.
    • Provide guidance on the use of supplements to manage side effects of conventional treatments.
    • Monitor patients’ response to supplements and adjust recommendations as needed.


  • Degree in Naturopathic Medicine
  • 2-3 years of clinical experience
  • Relevant training and certifications in Naturopathic Medicine
  • Specializations in women’s health, hormones, autoimmune, acute illness, and chronic illness treatments are desired

Compensation and Benefits

  • Target base salary: $105,000 – $200,000
